soCurio | art is for everyone

I worked as a Graphic Designer for many years, only beginning to paint, make prints and collages after I had "retired" from my 9 - 5 job. My paintings are loose, spontaneous and immediate. My interest is in expressing the relationship between domesticity and art-making. i often incorporate the artifacts of daily life ... my grandmother’s lace doilies, supermarket packaging, canceled checks and household textiles. All of these odd artifacts find their way into my work. The theme of renewal is common in my artwork, as my day-to-day routine mirrors the larger cycle of organic growth and decay.
