As an artist, one of the great joys of my life is having a blank canvas or paper in front of me and knowing that I can create something that has never before existed in this world. The creative process, as many artists will tell you, is the most inspiring thing to me. While having an end result that I am pleased with and one which can stir up emotions in other people is always a goal of mine, the physical act of painting or drawing -- being present in the moment of creation -- that's when I can sit back and know why I do what I do. Art brings strength, happiness, and purpose to my life. It brings me a peace of mind I cannot find in anything else.
