I first connected with ceramic art through the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana and it’s many influential Master Ceramic Artists such as Dave Shaner, Ken Ferguson, Dave and Judy Cornell, Peter Voulkos and Rudy Autio.
My mother had a life long interest in ceramics and weaving - she took wheel throwing classes from Ferguson and Shaner and we had them over for dinner many times when I was a child.
When I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Montana, Rudy Autio was my academic advisor and I had a work/study job as the sculture studio asistant.
Anyway, these Master Clay Artists inspired my life long love of ceramic art and I just followed that muse by studying art at: Antioch College, Yellow Springs, Ohio where I became a college drop out; The University of Montana where I received a BFA degree; further study at The University of Alaska at Fairbanks and Maharishi Univerisity of Management in Fairfield, Iowa.
