landscape artist
I am an artist working mostly in dry pastel. My work is representational in nature with my landscape work but more impressionistic when I work in monotype print making and acrylics and oils. I live int he northwest and paint mostly the western landscape.
Pastels are a favorite medium because of the brilliant color and their immediacy in application and completion.
I like to create images that entice a viewer to "step into" the painting and get lost for just a moment and enjoy that time feeling the time of day, the temperature, the smells, etc.
If that occurs, then I have done my job well.
