Glass
Having grown up on a working ranch I am a big admirer of nature. The colors, the shapes, the smell, and the textures that can be found at all levels of nature always inspire me. I am also very inspired by technology. What humans have done whether for good or bad always make me think and never stop to inspire me? My work reflects this, with its organic shapes and use of non-traditional materials. I enjoy the design aspects, the smell and texture of the materials, and the process of shaping the material
I started working in clay and then went to metals and am now working in glass. All three materials have presented a different challenge to me and I have learned a lot form the process of all three.. I have to say that I like working with the glass more than any other material. The, never really knowing how the work is going to come out is one of the things I like most. The colors I can choose from are also a big plus for me. It allows me to paint in glass. The ability to shape the glass to certain shape’s, test not only my creativity but also my patience.
I have shown in galleries around the state since 1985 to the present. I have also been part of group shows in south Texas at “IMAS” in McAllen Tx and in Mexico at the “Museio De Arte Cotemporaneo De Tamaulipa’s” twice..
