Limited edition of 75* pieces. The edition umber and my name is scribed into the glaze. The Bantu Princess was modeled in clay and molded twice to achieve a refined and detailed finish. She was poured in ceramic slip, fired, and black glaze was applied. To give this Bantu an extra punch, I added details in gold and red oil paint. I have spent years trying to perfect the process of achieving a sleek and flawless surface of the ceramic body and the glaze. I believe I have come as close as I can get, although my quest for perfection will be ongoing. The main side of the Bantu's face is convex, the opposite side shows the mirror image, but concave, expressing her conflicting thoughts. The pose of the Bantu’s head shows pride, dignity, and confidence. The Bantu is 11" tall and 7" wide.
