This painting is based on a photograph taken during a visit to Noirmoutier in France. The onlooker happened to wander into the frame and it proved to be the best shot. I love watch people stop and lean in to view the painting, discovering objects of interest and interpreting the reflections in the window. Ultimately, they become like the figure in the painting forced to take a closer look.
