Description

Perhaps this painting looks like a place you know, so I won't reveal its exact location; I'll just say this is somewhere along the coast in New England. I broke a few rule of composition, I used the vertical format for a horizontal subject and I refused to give the viewer a pathway leading into the distance. Anyone who has ever trod upon this type of terraine knows how intimidating it can be to not slip. I once had a nasty fall when I tried to negotiate my way ashore across a similar scene.
